Canadian company Inkas announced the development of an armored vehicle based on the new generation Cadillac Escalade SUV.
The hidden armoring technology of the new Cadillac Escalade provides car passengers with BR6-class protection: thus, the SUV will protect them from attacks from assault small arms, as well as the consequences of the explosion of two hand grenades at once. In the base version, the Cadillac Escalade gets an armored capsule around the passenger compartment. In addition, the battery compartment and the powertrain control unit are separately armored. Inkas will replace standard glass with bulletproof glass, and use its technology to protect door joints.
Reinforced springs have appeared in the suspension of the Cadillac Escalade SUV, and standard tires are giving way to tires that are puncture resistant. Additionally, the car can be equipped with more powerful brakes, a fire extinguishing system, hands-free technology with the outside space, as well as strobe lights and sirens.
At the same time, the power unit of the Cadillac Escalade SUV remains at the factory. It is a 6.2-liter V8 petrol engine producing 420 hp. It works in tandem with a 10-band automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. On a separate request, Inkas also book a diesel modification of the Escalade: the 3.0-liter engine develops 281 hp.
