Throughout 2020, CFMoto 800MT has repeatedly flashed on the network in spy photos, first in camouflage, then in serial form. And finally, the official presentation of the big tour enduro from China took place.
CFMoto company demonstrated at the exhibition both versions of 800MT at once: the basic one, oriented to travel on roads of any quality, and more off-road. Both 800MT variants have 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, but the Asphalt Adventure comes with cast aluminum rims, while the off-road version sports spoke wheels, as well as more “evil” tires and engine protectors.
Otherwise, there are no differences. The CFMoto 800MT powertrain is, as it was already known, the KTM LC8c engine: an in-line 799cc liquid-cooled twin. On the Chinese Adventurer, it produces 94 hp. – comparable to 95 hp from the Austrian. But the torque was lost somewhere: 77 Nm instead of 88 Nm. “Gas by wire”, engine operating modes, traction control, ABS and cruise control migrated from KTM without major changes. They saved a little on the chassis: the 800MT received a KYB suspension and J. Juan brake systems.
The most noticeable difference between CFMoto and KTM is its layout: instead of providing a low center of gravity tank of two halves, the 800MT is equipped with a classic fuel tank. There are no enduro-oriented one-piece seats on CFMoto either: both versions come with separate driver and passenger seats. In this case, not only the handlebars are equipped with heating, but also the seat. The motorcycle also received a seven-inch TFT display and navigation system. There is one more important difference: CFMoto 800MT is almost 45 kg heavier than KTM.
CFMoto has not yet announced retail prices for 800MT, and there is also no information on the prospects for the appearance of the motorcycle in the European market. As of today, the start of sales has been announced so far only in China.
