Chery has published teasers of the firstborn of the brand’s new corporate identity, the X-C crossover. Sohu.com suggests that the model is still in pre-production prototype status.
It is expected that the premiere of Chery X-C will take place before the end of 2021, and the crossover will go on sale in the Chinese market in 2022.
The characteristic features of the new corporate style of Chery, by all appearances, will be two-tier head optics and an unusual pattern of the radiator grille. Headlights, fog lights and turn signals are located under the narrow LED running lights. The taillights, in accordance with the general trend, were connected by a luminous strip that stretches across the entire width of the body. In addition to all of the above, the crossover has a “floating” roof, which is crowned with a spoiler.
The Chinese brand has not yet disclosed the technical characteristics of the future model. However, most likely, the novelty will receive a hybrid power plant – the electrification of the model range is provided for by Chery’s “Epoch 4.0” strategy.
By the time the X-C appears on the market, the company will already have a power plant based on a 2.0 TGDI Kunpeng family turbo petrol engine, complemented by an electric motor on the rear axle. This setup has already been confirmed for the Tiggo 8 Plus PHEV plug-in hybrid, which will go on sale in China by the end of this year.
