Porsche has announced the addition of a new GTS to the 911 Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet, as well as the 911 Targa 4, to expand its 911 family. / p>
The new Porsche 911 GTS will be powered by a 6-cylinder boxer engine developing 480 hp. and 570 Nm of torque: that’s 30 hp. and 20 Nm more than the previous generation GTS and the current 911 Carrera S model. The engine will be equipped with an 8-speed PDK “robot” or an optional 7-speed manual gearbox with shorter lever strokes. These versions of the Porsche 911 accelerate to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds: 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor.
The standard equipment of the new 911 GTS will include an active suspension adapted from the 911 Turbo model, and for coupes and convertibles the ground clearance will be reduced by 10 mm. The 911 Turbo will also use brakes with 20-inch discs on the front axle and 21-inch discs on the rear axle for new items. In addition, the new 911 GTS comes with a custom-tuned sports exhaust as standard.
It will be possible to find out the new version of the Porsche 911 GTS not only by the nameplates, but also by the darkened trim of the body, as well as by the tinted optics. The interior of the car will have a predominantly black trim, a GT Sport steering wheel and especially electrically adjustable sports seats. The noise isolation of the GTS version compared to standard models will be reduced for a more emotional driving experience. Finally, the new 911 GTS will receive the previously announced redesigned media system.
In November 2021, the Porsche 911 GTS sports cars will have access to an optional package called Lightweight Design, which will reduce the total weight of the car by 25 kg. It will include carbon-fiber seats, lightweight glass and battery, as well as a fully-steering chassis and a number of new aerodynamic components. In addition, with this package, the Porsche 911 GTS will get rid of the backseat. The cost and timing of the appearance of 911 GTS on the market have not yet been announced.
