RM auction house Sothebys auctioned a police Subaru 360 1970. Half a century patrol car, who served in the Department of transport of New Zealand, will find a new owner during the auction on may 1-2 2020.
Compact Subaru 360 was produced from 1958 through 1971 – copies of the model amounted to almost 400 thousand copies. In Japan, 360 for modest size was nicknamed “ladybug” in length machine reached 2 990 mm, width – 1300 mm, height – 1379 mm, and the wheelbase was equal to 1801 mm. Budget car were popular on the home market – it sold in two – and three-door body and folding fabric roof.
The copy offered for sale, completed a 25-horsepower two-cylinder engine with a volume of 356 cubic inches, which works in tandem with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is painted in the traditional colors of the new Zealand police, and the Board applied the livery of a local Department of transportation.
A police Subaru 360 is equipped with special equipment: siren and light signals, and the even hat is the new Zealand police, which is included in the kit. Price of the lot is not specified, however it is known that in 2010 a similar model to be auctioned for 16 $ 500.
