Autofacil has posted the first images of the new Dacia Bigster crossover in production, reportedly from the European Patent Office.
Judging by the sketches presented, the Dacia Bigster will go to the conveyor in almost the same form in which it was shown as a concept: the premiere of the show car took place in January 2020. The crossover in the serial version will receive a similar silhouette, the same extended wheel arches, as well as original stamping at the bottom of the doors. In addition, the new Dacia Bigster will get an aggressive front bumper with imitation engine protection and “gills” located on the front fenders.
The head optics and taillights of the production Dacia Bigster will receive the same Y-shaped “light signature”: this is a variation on the pattern already used on the new Logan and Sandero. The differences between the production version and the concept car are reduced to a shortened rear overhang and a different design of the radiator grille.
According to preliminary data, the production version of the Dacia Bigster will be based on the European architecture CMF-B in its simplified version, and the length of the crossover will be 4.6 meters. Thus, it will become a more affordable alternative to SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan or KIA Sportage. At the same time, the engine range of the novelty will consist of a 3-cylinder turbo engine with a working volume of 1.2 liters in various recoil modifications and hybrid power plants based on it.
When exactly the Dacia brand will officially introduce the serial version of the crossover, it has not yet been reported: during the debut of the concept car, it was assumed that the brand will replenish its model line with the largest SUV only by 2025.
