German carmaker Daimler reached a settlement agreement with the US authorities for “diesel scandal”.
It is reported that the automaker will be forced to pay 1.27 billion euros for a deal with the American authorities, and about 600 million Euro for collective civil suit. Representatives of Daimler declare that all the details of the transaction were agreed upon.
“Diesel scandal” broke out in 2015 for Volkswagen cars. It turned out that the cars of the German company was equipped with software that allowed to underestimate the concentrations of harmful substances in exhaust gases.
