The German automaker is gearing up for the premiere of a new generation of practical front-wheel drive compact van.
Cochespias has posted images of a new BMW brochure showing the second generation BMW 2-Series Active Tourer. The top-end hybrid version has been declassified, which is hinted at by matrix headlights, as well as the M-package. It can be assumed that the electrified modification 230xe will receive a 270-horsepower rechargeable power plant based on a 2.0-liter turbo engine.
Officially, the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer (F45) has been produced since 2014, and therefore the model will soon change its generation. The automaker has not yet disclosed the date of the premiere of the new generation BMW 2-Series Active Tourer, but judging by the leaked data, it will not take long to wait.
Most likely the form factor of the 2-Series Active Tourer will not change, but the model will increase in size and receive a radiator grille with massive “nostrils” in the style of the current models of the brand. According to unofficial information, a modern multimedia complex with a curved display will appear in the cabin, and the interior will resemble an i4 electric car.
Insiders claim that the new product will be based on a front-wheel drive platform, and at the start of sales there will be five modifications of the model. Diesel – 218d with a 150-horsepower 2.0 engine, three petrol – 218i (157 horsepower), 220i (180 horsepower), 223i (203 horsepower, mild hybrid), and the most powerful will be a 230xe plug-in hybrid with 270 horsepower. c.
The debut of the novelty should take place before the end of this year, but the sources cannot name a more precise date.
