Chinese journalists revealed the appearance of the mid-size crossover Geely KX11-the future flagship of the brand, built on the same CMA platform as the cross-coupe Tugella. From the outside, the KX11 is similar to the” related ” Volvo models: the novelty has an UN-Asian restrained design and modern matrix diode optics.
The leaked image of the Geely KX11 is not accompanied by details, but the illustration is enough to see the similarity to the Preface business sedan. Both models have an almost vertical nose, a shield-shaped radiator grille with chrome slats inside, and horizontal headlights with a chopped diode pattern.
Probably, the serial Geely KX11 will be distinguished by three rows of seats, but the front interior of the crossover will be very similar to the interior of the Preface sedan. Spy shots show a distinctive non-lockable transmission selector and a highly positioned “floating” touchscreen.
There is no official information on the technical stuffing, but the base one will probably be a 2.0-liter 190-horsepower (300 Nm) turbo engine Volvo Drive-E. Probably, the unit will be combined with 8-speed “automatic” Aisin or 7-speed “robot” with two clutches.
It is expected that the premiere of the serial crossover Geely KX11 will take place in April at the Shanghai auto show. It is possible that the Chinese Ministry of industry and trade will fully reveal the appearance of the novelty, its overall dimensions and power plant in advance. Geely’s flagship will enter the domestic market later this year.
