Diesel scandal: minus €620 million from the “pocket” VW

Corporation Volkswagen will pay compensation to 620 million euros for the diesel scandal. These funds will receive approximately 200,000 clients of the German company in Germany.

Each of them will be awarded an amount which is equivalent to 15% of the price of purchased transportation, i.e. from 1350 to 6250 Euro, depending on model and age of car.

As reported by the local press, for the most part they are members of the German Association of consumers, which the German automaker was able to negotiate for compensation. A lawsuit against the Corporation served more than 400,000 European customers. The concern try to resolve the issue through negotiations.

The scandal of falsification of information on emissions diesel powertrains at a cost to the German automaker, to more than 30 billion euros. We are talking about fines, buy cars, repairs. According to the representative of the German company, this amount is not paid in full, the transfer will continue until 2021-th. The fines, which shall pay the carmaker, budgeted VW.

It should be mentioned that the scandal due to fraud with diesel engines broke in 2015. when the us government announced that the German company are understated information about the content of harmful substances in exhaust gases of diesel power plants.
