Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat can become hybrids

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is going for one and a half years to become a world leader in the electrification of cars and the hybrids are at risk of becoming even the most powerful model.

For those who are not regular Dodge, you have two options sports models – 717-horsepower Challenger Hellcat or 840-horsepower Challenger SRT Demon. There are versions of not only the coupe, but the sedan Charger, although it is not supposed performance of the SRT Demon. But soon may appear and powerful hybrids on the basis of Dodge.

The new head of the FCA on the power plant Micky bly said that customers want more powerful units than are now installed on the car group. To achieve a higher return is possible only due to the electrification of engines.

In an interview with The Detroit Bureau bly expressed confidence that in the future the FCA will be a place for powerful hybrid versions of the Charger and Challenger. The development of these electrified vehicles is already underway, but details are not yet disclosed.

According to The Detroit Bureau, we can talk about “mild” hybrid, which allows to obtain an increase in torque and power price of relatively small increase in vehicle weight.
