Dodge Durango will celebrate the anniversary of the Mopar branch

Limited edition of the Dodge Durango crossover – Mopar 22 – debuted at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. The Mopar 85th Anniversary Special Edition, to be celebrated in 2022, will be released in just 200 copies for the US and 50 more for Canada. Similar to the SRT with Mopar Performance Parts, this is a showcase for Mopar’s customization capabilities, a vehicle with a conventional powertrain but modified exterior, interior and chassis.

The car will only be available in two body colors (DB Black and White Knuckle) with a sideways Mopar Blue stripe and a blue Mopar badge in the corner of the radiator grille instead of the Dodge lettering.

Dodge Durango is distinguished from the original Mopar 22 by the 20×10 ” Lights Out aluminum rims, which in other cases are an option, Pirelli Verde Zero 295/45 tires, Brembo brake calipers in Mopar Blue and a 25 mm.

The car uses a V8 5.7 HEMI engine (365 hp, 529 N • m) with an eight-speed “automatic” and all-wheel drive. Other features of the version include the adaptive suspension SRT and the rear limited slip differential with electronic locking. The standard kit includes a mode switch (Sport / Track / Tow / Snow), a towing kit, enhanced engine cooling, an increase in maximum speed to 233 km / h, a reconfigured SRT exhaust system and an active SRT noise cancellation.

The interior now features a Mopar 22 badge with a serial number, Mopar floor mats and pedals, plus leather and suede-trimmed seats with two-tone Mopar logos and blue stitching embroidered on the backrests.

Each buyer will receive an individual metal certificate of authenticity with a serial number and a visualization of the vehicle by the Mopar design team. The modification is based on the 2022 R / T AWD package with Plus Group and Tow N Go packages ($ 53,742), to which is added the Mopar 22 package for $ 3,995, for a total of $ 57,737. Dealers will start taking orders in the first quarter of 2022 and the cars will arrive to car dealerships in the summer. We add that the modification with the “eight” 5.7 is far from the most powerful in the Durango range (at the top is the 720-horsepower SRT Hellcat modification with the 6.2 compressor unit). However, according to the head of Dodge Tim Kuniskis, the age of large V8s in the current conditions is short-lived.
