A drunk truck driver caused a major accident in the town of Fürth, near Nuremberg (Germany). The 50-year-old driver ran a red light and then crashed into buildings and cars, causing several large fires.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine Auto with reference to the Associated Press.
The driver first ran a red light at an intersection, hitting one car, then rammed many cars – driving some into the walls of surrounding buildings, while others simply pushed into parked cars.
Three casualties are reported, although things could have been much worse – they managed to quickly evacuate the residents from the burning house. Monetary damage has not yet been calculated, but given the 31 wrecked or burned cars, the amount will be astronomical.
According to the results of a medical examination, it turned out that the level of alcohol in the blood of a man was several times higher than the legal limit. According to police, the driver is a 50-year-old Turkish citizen who does not have permanent residence in Germany. Of course, given the severity of the accident, he was immediately arrested.
