SAIC MG has revealed the technical characteristics of the MG One cross-hatch, but did not indicate the date of its launch on the market. The five-door uses a new SAIC Sigma platform, a Mega Tech 1.5T Pro petrol turbo four (181 hp, 285 Nm) and a “completely new” CVT280 CVT capable of digesting up to 325 Nm. The multi-link rear suspension allows four-wheel drive, but for now it is front. The MG Pilot 3.0 autopilot relies on 26 sensors and high-precision maps. The advanced audio system was supplied by Yamaha.
“Family design of the third generation” gave birth to versions “a” and “B”, differing in the design of the grille and the front bumper. Alpha (left) focuses on “sporty style and digital intelligence,” Beta on technology and fashion. Their dimensions are the same: 4579x1866x1601 mm, 2670 between axles.
At the rear, “a” and “B” differ in the shape of the nozzles and the color of the “protective” plate. The rear pillars are decorated with a “rhombic” relief, which is not visible in all photos. Tire sizes: 225/55 R18, 225/50 R19. The name MG One is not translated into Chinese, which probably speaks of the global status of the hatch.
In the salon, the division into “a” and “B” is perceptible, because? favors esports. In any case, a 30-inch cluster of three displays with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8155P processor and “sports” seats with speakers in the headrests dominate. There is a climate control sensor unit, an electronic handbrake, wireless charging of smartphones, a panoramic roof with a sunroof, and so on.
The rear seats for versions “a” and “B” are identical, and the head of the 183 cm Chinese is two fingers from the ceiling. No ambitious plans to launch Wan outside of China have been heard to this day. In continental Europe, MG has relied on electric vehicles, and the One isn’t even a hybrid. The UK will accept it with a gasoline engine, because MG3, ZS and HS are sold in the historical homeland of the brand. New details are possible at the start of sales.
