In the USA, an edible car set two Guinness records at once: for maximum speed and for distance covered. The unusual car was able to accelerate to 27.48 km / h and cover 106.62 meters.

This event was initiated by the ilani casino, which wanted to advertise its new establishment and a huge parking lot for 2,700 cars. In this regard, it was decided to arrange a vivid show related to cars. The famous pastry chef Mike Elder, who had previously built similar machines, was called to create the edible car.

According to the rules of the Guinness Book of Records, a car must be at least 90% edible. For the event, two race cars were made, both of which consisted of 12 vertical cake layers with an additional five on the rear spoiler.

It took a team of nine professionals 46 hours to make edible cars. The white cake machine is made from 139 vanilla cakes with buttercream frosting, the black one is from 145.

An aluminum frame was used as the basis for the design. Together with the axles and wheels, it weighs 29 kilograms. The total weight of an edible car is 303 kilograms.

During the race, the car was driven by Michael Andretti, a famous American race car driver and champion of various motorsport competitions. As a result, he managed to break two records at once – in maximum speed and in distance covered. The unusual car was able to accelerate to 27.48 km / h and drive 106.62 meters. The cars were donated to a local non-profit organization after the trip.
