GAC Honda has updated its Sport EV VE-1 SUV for model year 2022. The electric motor continues to deliver 120 kW (163 hp, 280 Nm), while the NEDC range has been increased to 480 km (+10) by upgrading the 61.3 kWh battery system. The compact got a digital tidy and changed the transmission selector.
Externally, the model has not changed: 4308x1773x1625 mm, 2610 between the axles. The body palette has been expanded by two shades (up to five, not counting the two-tone options). Standard drives have grown by an inch (up to 18).
The new dashboard measures 12.3 inches. The push-button selector gave way to a rotary one. The main display remains eight-inch. Through the Wow Station app, you can now remotely control the climate in the cabin.
The modified crossover will be available in China from September 26th. The rise in price is unlikely. The current Honda VE-1 is priced at 159,800-183,800 yuan, and demand is low: only 1,375 units were sold in the first half of the year. The twin brother X-NV from Dongfeng Honda is even less in demand. The audience is waiting for the new Honda HR-V.
