Electric car with the largest battery in the world

The new GMC Hummer EV electric pickup surprises with its enormous weight. Its curb weight is 4,111 kg.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine Auto with reference to Car&Driver.

The gross weight of the SUV is an impressive 4,785 kg. Interestingly, the traction battery weighs 1,326 kg, making it the heaviest among today’s mass-produced electric vehicles. For comparison, the curb weight of ZAZ Lanos, depending on the version, varies between 1095-1140 kg.

The battery is noted to have a usable capacity of 212.7 kWh. Despite the impressive battery capacity, the pickup truck has a far from record-breaking range of 530 km. That’s not much more than its main competitors, the Rivian R1T and Ford F-150 Lighting pickups. With significantly smaller batteries, they have a cruising range of 505 and 515 km, respectively.
