Electric crossover Lotus will receive a grille with a secret

At the end of the summer, we learned that Lotus intends to produce four electric vehicles by 2026. This is part of Vision80’s strategy to move to battery-powered vehicles. The day before, the brand shared a teaser revealing some of the details of the firstborn.

The Type 132 will feature a hexagonal grille that sits above a carbon fiber splitter. The design has many active flaps that open and close to improve cooling and aerodynamics.

There is not much data yet. According to Lotus, the crossover will accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in about three seconds. You will be offered several options for rechargeable batteries with a capacity of 92 to 120 kilowatt-hours. Thanks to the advanced charging system, you can replenish your electricity supply in just 20 minutes (up to 80%).

Type 132 will be built on a new “premium” platform. Lotus will launch an electric four-door coupe in 2023, followed by a larger crossover in 2025. The Type 135 sports car will close the quartet, but it will be based on a different architecture developed in cooperation with Alpine E-Sports.

The modular trolley allows you to build two- and four-seater models with one or two motors. Basic versions boast a 66.4 kilowatt-hour battery and a 476 hp electric motor. The most productive version will be able to deliver over 880 hp, and the battery capacity will exceed 99 kilowatt-hours.
