Still known under the code name “Type 130”, all-electric hypercar finally got its own name – the machine will be called Evija. Official presentation of novelties will take place on July 16 at a special event in London, and the start of production is scheduled for 2020.
The rumors were true – the British company Lotus has dubbed its first hypercar as the “Evija” to follow a long tradition refer to their models of cars with names that begin with the letter “E” Esprit, Europa, Elan, Elise, Eclat, Elite, Excel, Exos, Exige, Evora, and of course, the cult Eleven. In addition to the disclosure of the names of the all-electric hypercar, the boys also posted a 15-second video teaser.
There is not much that we really would like to see, but still it is worth a look! Within the video we show the red sports button stop/start powertrain, along with the window switches and buttons to control the automatic transmission.
The name “Evija” is displayed on what seems like a fully digital instrument panel hypercar, while behind him, it appears, is led diffused light at the base of the windshield that goes from one corner of the instrument panel to the other.
It is expected that the first entirely new Lotus will be released edition of only 130 copies. Power hypercar will be more than 1,000 horsepower and a cruising range on a full charge would be about 402 km. According to rumors, the novelty will receive system of a full drive and will use the powertrain, developed in cooperation with the famous British company Williams Advanced Engineering. In the body structure is widely used carbon fiber.
