Three years after its market debut, this Chinese electric car has undergone a major facelift.
This electric car did not complain about sales in China: the demand for Roewe Ei5 is consistently good. After the upgrade, the model looks more modern. So, the manufacturer decided to abandon the traditional grille. A neat plug with the inscription “Roewe” and a charging port took its place. The head optics have become more triangular, and the front bumper is more massive.
The debut of new items can be organized at the April Shanghai Motor Show. But the sales of the prettier electric car are scheduled for the second quarter. The interior was also thoroughly redesigned: a new multifunctional steering wheel and a large virtual “tidy” in the style of the ER6 sedan. The chairs have been replaced, as have the materials for finishing.
A new bumper flaunts at the rear of the electric car, but the taillights have retained the same shape. The update did not affect the size of the station wagon: its length, as before, exceeds 4.5 meters with a wheelbase of 2,665 mm.
The car is driven by the old 184-horsepower electric motor, working in conjunction with a battery with a capacity of 61.1 kWh.
Without recharging, such a zero-emission station wagon will travel about 501 kilometers. In the name of the new item, most likely, the prefix Plus or Max will appear. There are no price tags yet. For the pre-styling version in the celestial car dealerships they ask from 140,800 yuan ($ 21,600).
