The minimum price tag for a new product will be about $ 150 thousand.
The American company Tesla is completing preparations for the serial production of an electric truck called Semi. The model, which was shown back in 2017, was supposed to debut two years ago. At the same time, according to the Electrek edition, the production line for assembling the drive axles of the electric car is already ready, and the main conveyor for assembling the truck is undergoing final debugging.
It is known that Tesla has built a production site for Semi trucks in a new building near Gigafactory in Nevada, USA. By the end of 2021, the American manufacturer intends to assemble 5 Semi electric trucks a week.
The top version of the Tesla Semi with four electric motors and upgraded batteries will have a huge power reserve: up to 1,000 km. An empty truck can accelerate to the first “hundred” in just 5 seconds. At the same time, a standard heavy cargo will receive a “range” of 480 to 800 km. The minimum cost of the model will be $ 150,000. The all-electric Tesla Semi is slated to deliver the lowest cost of ownership in the industry.
