The French brand DS announced a complete rejection of the use of traditional internal combustion engines from 2024. From now on, all new cars of this brand will be fully electric. DS plans to launch new electric vehicles on a platform that is still under development.
The base for future DS electric cars will be a new platform called STLA Medium. Stellantis announced the work on it in July this year, having announced a strategy for electrifying the model line of brands that are part of the concern. The platform is aimed at mid-size electric vehicles with a length of 4.2 to 5 meters with power units up to 450 hp. and a power reserve of up to 700 km.
Brand DS will present a new electric car in 2024. In addition, the official announcement notes the company’s success in the Formula E electric racing series. In the same 2024, a fully electric version will also appear on the DS 4.
Today every DS model has an electrified version: the DS 4, DS 7 and DS 9 have hybrid versions, while the compact DS 3 Crossback has an all-electric version.
