And Volkswagen Golf took off from the top ten best-selling cars. These are the October sales results based on JATO Dynamics data.

The compact crossover Peugeot 2008 in October became the most popular model in Europe, ahead of the Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero hatchbacks. The report includes sales statistics for 24 EU countries, as well as Norway and the UK, Automotive News reported.

The traditional hit of sales in Europe – Volkswagen Golf – sold in the amount of 11,174 copies. This is 59% less than in October 2020. Analysts attribute such a low result to a decrease in the production volumes of the model in Wolfsbrug to the lowest level since 1958. The reason is the shortage of semiconductor products.

The ten most popular passenger cars in Europe in October 2021:

  1. Peugeot 2008 – 18 109 units
  2. Renault Clio – 14 639 units
  3. Dacia Sandero – 14,034 pcs.
  4. Peugeot 208 – 13,978 units
  5. Ford Focus – 12 704 units
  6. Fiat 500 – 12,555 units
  7. Fiat Panda – 12 391 pcs.
  8. Opel Corsa – 12 355 pcs.
  9. Volkswagen T-Roc – 12,116 pcs.
  10. Renault Captur – 12,099 units

Nevertheless, according to the results of January – October 2021, Volkswagen Golf still holds the first place in the sales ranking with a result of 186 444 cars sold. The second place is taken by Toyota Yaris, which lagged behind the “Golf” by 22 thousand cars.
