Ev9 electric crossover: the first images from KIA

The recently announced online show of the KIA Concept EV9 was not a full-fledged premiere: the manufacturer only shared a few teasers of a concept electric SUV, anticipating the future production model, and revealed the most general information.

Judging by the published images, the EV9 will not only be larger than the already familiar KIA EV6, but will also receive a completely different, more “boxy” body. The abundance of vertical lines hints, as conceived by the authors, at a spacious interior. The show car was painted with large rims, cameras instead of rear-view mirrors, a panoramic roof. The door handles are not visible in the pictures.

Inside the KIA Concept EV9 there is an unusual steering wheel and a wide display. The driver and front passenger areas are separated by a center console with a long armrest. It is possible that this element will be movable – like the soplatform Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Fully KIA Concept EV9 promise to declassify next Wednesday, November 17, at the international auto show in Los Angeles (AutoMobility LA). The event will start at 21:15 Kyiv time. There and on the same day, the technically related, but outwardly not similar to EV9, concept Hyundai Seven will debut – the harbinger of the Ioniq 7 SUV, which will be released in 2024. We don’t know when EV9 itself will be on the assembly line. According to rumors, both of these models will receive batteries with a capacity of about 100 kilowatt-hours, the charge of which should be enough for about 500 kilometers, and a pair of electric motors – one per axle – totaling over 300 hp.
