The Czech brand is developing a new compact SUV for the Indian market, which will fall under the tax base due to its compact dimensions. In size, the future novelty will be smaller than the Kushaq crossover presented in March 2021.
As it became known from local media reports, the novelty will share all the main components and assemblies with the recently debuted Skoda Kushaq. At the same time, the design center in Europe is responsible for the development of the model, the name of which has not yet been determined, but with the constant participation of specialists from India.
The crossover, whose length will not exceed 4 meters, will be based on the budget version of the MQB-A0 IN platform, and the motor range will include a 1.0-liter 116 hp engine. and a 150-strong “turbo four” with a volume of 1.5 liters. As a transmission, they will most likely offer a 6-speed “mechanics” or automatic transmission, as well as a 7-band “robot”. According to Tarantas News, only front-wheel drive is assumed.
The premiere of the new Skoda subcompact crossover will take place no earlier than 2022.
