The British automaker’s press office has released full specifications and performance figures for the Lotus Emira V6 in a First Edition exclusive.
Lotus has unveiled a completely new car over the years – the Emira will replace the Elise, Exige and the larger Evora. Following its launch in early July, the Emira made headlines again as the Norfolk, UK-based brand released full specifications for the vehicle.
The Emira V6 First Edition uses a 3.5-liter Toyota V6 engine powered by an Edelbrock 1740 supercharger.
It produces a healthy 400 horsepower, while the torque figure depends on whether the car is equipped with a manual or automatic transmission.
With “mechanics” the six-cylinder engine produces 420 Nm, the six-speed automatic transmission gives an additional 10 Nm, for a total of 430 Nm.
The increased torque and faster gear changes for the automatic version of the new items lead to acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the Emira with manual transmission. Regardless of the powertrain, the new British mid-engined sports car, described as “a quantum leap forward for Lotus”, will hit a top speed of 290 km / h.
The First Edition has all the bells and whistles, including 20-inch diamond-cut, bi-tone alloy wheels or optional high-gloss black or silver, available at no additional cost. Buyers also receive a tire pressure monitoring system as standard options.
The Lotus Emira First Edition will go into production next spring in Ethel, UK. The minimum price will be £ 75,995 or $ 103,800. In the fall of 2022, the AMG four-cylinder turbocharged version of the model will go on sale, also in the First Edition.
