A new patent application from Toyota might indicate that the Japanese automaker is also considering a production model with a long roof (wagon) especially for US.
Toyota Corolla the latest generation is a global model for the Japanese automaker. While in the United States, you can purchase this car only in a sedan or hatchback, buyers in Europe and other regions of the world also offers a more practical and stylish version of the model in the station wagon.
First discovered in foreign forums, the patent application was allegedly filed by the representatives of the brand last week.
This document registers the copyright symbols Toyota BZ and Capstone. Some reports from top media stated that the first of them can actually be used for the American version Corolla Touring Sports, which the brand calls universal Corolla abroad.
If this rumor proves true, Toyota will be one of the few brands in America that offer their customers universal. Currently, similar class of cars, apparently, is limited mainly to the premium segment – rounders offer Audi, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz. Performance more affordable station wagon from Toyota will be warmly welcomed by a small but growing group of fans of this body type.
As for the other designation of Capstone, there is evidence that it can be used for a new execution of several Toyota models. According to insiders, the Capstone designation could be reserved for more off-road version of the compact crossover C-HR, to make the car better able to compete with the American crossover Jeep Renegade.
