The American automaker has announced three new versions of the 2021 Ford Explorer full-size crossover. The start of sales of new products has already begun.

Ford is constantly introducing new versions of the Explorer crossover. The automaker recently unveiled a deluxe version of the King Ranch, and we know the Explorer, in the more off-road version of the Timberline, is also gearing up to debut. Three new crossover versions will also be available for the 2021 model year.

The most popular of these will be the Explorer Enthusiast ST, which is essentially a more affordable version of the high-performance Explorer ST. The novelty will be offered with a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 400 horsepower and will receive an initial price tag of $ 49,995. The standard Explorer ST 2021 model year has a starting price of $ 52,830.

Like the usual crossover, the Explorer Enthusiast ST is equipped as standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The novelty should have a top speed of 230 km / h, which, according to the brand, “is unmatched in this price category in this segment.” It is also worth noting that the new sports SUV is capable of towing up to 2,540 kg.

Another addition is the Explorer Platinum RWD version. It combines the rich equipment of the Explorer Platinum AWD with a slightly wider motor range. Platinum RWD comes standard with dedicated leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rollover doors, door and front console armrests.

Ford is also launching the Platinum Hybrid with a starting price of $ 53,085. It features the familiar hybrid system consisting of a 3.3-liter V6 coupled with an electric motor with a total output of 318 hp. (437 Nm) of torque.
