According to published data, the Fiat Chrysler Automobili group is going to invest about $ 2.45 billion in its plant in Tychy, Poland. It is planned that the production will be repurposed for the Assembly of electric cars and hybrids. The upgrade will be completed in mid-2022.

FCA representatives said that the new plant of the concern will produce environmentally friendly models under the Jeep, Alfa Romeo and Fiat brands. In the second half of 2022, the Assembly of three new models will begin at once. It is also reported that the company was not chosen by chance – such investments will help the Polish automotive sector catch up with its closest competitors in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

It should be noted that the plant in Poland is the largest enterprise in the region – it employs about 2,500 people. At the same time, the management of the future stellantis group positively accepted the idea of restructuring production for environmentally friendly models.
