Ferrari to expand model line with more affordable hybrid

The new Ferrari will receive a gasoline-electric powertrain with a V6 engine and looks that were inspired by the flagship SF90 Stradale.

The Ferrari brand has published a video in which it revealed the date of the debut of the new product – a supercar with a plug-in hybrid power plant based on a V6 engine. The dvuhdverka, which has repeatedly fallen into the lens of photo spies and is known under the index F171, will be presented on June 24.

The video teaser of the novelty from Maranello features Ferrari Academy racer and Formula 1 eSports Series champion David Tonizza, who is in front of the racing simulator screen. The new Ferrari supercar itself did not appear in the video, as well as information about it, except for the premiere date. However, thanks to insiders it is already known that the car will be a hybrid with a V6 engine. According to them, the power unit will be based on a 3.0-ton 6-cylinder engine with two turbines, a pair of which will be an electric motor. It is expected that the serial F171 will be able to move without the use of internal combustion engines and will be able to drive on one electric traction from 25 to 30 km.

The direct competitor of the new Ferrari will be McLaren Artura, which was shown in February this year with an installation based on a V6 engine, developing a total of 680 hp. and 720 Nm of torque. The performance of the new Ferrari is likely to exceed that of the British superhybrid and will be on par with the F8 Tributo, equipped with a 720-horsepower V8.
