The French “brother” of the current generation Nissan Rogue Sport / Qashqai has turned out to be a very nice crossover, and it has shared most of its basis with the Nissan model.
The new Renault Kadjar will debut next year and, as before, will be a co-platform with Nissan, and the upcoming crossover will receive an electrified transmission.
The 2022 Kadjar will use a common CMF-C / D platform developed by Nissan and Renault. Like the new Qashqai, Kadjar 2022 will get bigger. But the engine range of the novelty, despite the past expectations of experts, will not be similar to the Qashqai.
According to a report from French website Largus, the 2022 Kadjar could carve its own path in terms of powertrains. We expect at least two electrified petrol units in the engine lineup, one of which is a conventional 200-horsepower hybrid, as well as a more powerful plug-in hybrid model PHEV with a return of about 280 horsepower
It was planned that the plug-in hybrid will be used in conjunction with the Mitsubishi Outlander. However, the report says the Outlander’s drivetrain will not meet Euro 7. Diesel as the engine for the second-generation crossover is still in question.
The design of the 2022 Renault Kadjar will be more elite. Independent designer Jean François Hubert showed his vision of the future novelty. The SUV on the render gets thinner headlights, a dynamic radiator grille and a belt line reminiscent of the one on the Qashqai. In addition, there are hints of the Renault Megane e-Vision concept unveiled last year.
It is rumored that the Kadjar will be presented in two additional modifications: seven-seat and coupe-like.
The presentation of the novelty will take place no earlier than 2022, and the new Kadjar may appear on sale in the second quarter. Moreover, it will cost more than the pre-reform model.
