The Genesis brand has published a photo of the body fragments of the new G70 modification. It is noted that the cargo-passenger version of the G70 model will be positioned as a Shooting Brake, that is, a sports station wagon, which will be focused on the market of Western Europe, where the demand for cars of this type is traditionally high.
It is worth recalling that the original Genesis G70 is a compact sedan, available in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. The 4.68 meter long car has been produced since 2017 and competes in the market with models such as the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In 2020, the G70 sedan underwent a restyling, during which it received a modernized design of the front and rear parts of the body, an improved list of equipment and optional all-wheel drive.
As far as can be judged from the presented images of the new version of the G70, the body of the Shooting Brake is as unified as possible with the sedan: even the rear doors have been retained from it. The difference between the versions comes down to the rear fenders, the roof as well as the tailgate. Most likely, the Shooting Brake version was developed specifically on the occasion of the imminent release of Genesis in European countries, where this brand was not previously represented.
The Genesis G70 power line consists of 2.0 and 3.3 liter gasoline turbo engines, as well as a 2.2 liter turbodiesel. All power units are combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, a 6-speed manual transmission is also available for the former.
