Kia has released the first images of the new Carens SUV, which will debut worldwide on December 16. The novelty, called by the automaker a “bold and sophisticated” leisure car, will receive a recognizable style, a 7-seater interior, and modern equipment.
Due to the fact that the new Kia Carens cross-van is being developed specifically for the Indian market, when creating it, Koreans are guided, first of all, by the needs of modern Indian families who like to enjoy joint trips and generally enjoy spending time together.
Judging by the presented images, outwardly the Kia Carens crossover will really look like the Seltos soplatform model, but the design of the new item still looks more modern. The new car is based on the current corporate style of the Kia brand – Opposites United (“The unity of opposites”), into which the automaker skillfully entered a “muscular” side profile, as well as a recognizable front end in the form of a “tiger nose”.
The interior of the new Kia Carens is made in the spirit of the times. This is understandable both from the compact gear selector and from the minimalism in design, the main emphasis in which, most likely, will be placed on comfort and ergonomics. The front panel of the novelty will house a large 10.25-inch multimedia system screen, and next to it there will be a display of a digital “dashboard” of comparable size, the interface of which will most likely be borrowed from the Carnival crossover or Tucson crossover.
Power units, dimensions, as well as other technical characteristics of the new items in Kia have not yet been named. It is planned that all “equipment”, including the platform, the new Carens will share with the Seltos crossover, presented in India with petrol and diesel engines 1.5 with 115 hp, as well as three transmissions to choose from: 6-speed manual transmission, 6-speed ” automatic “and variator.
