Yes, Koenigsegg have done it again. Not only did they land a rather unsubtle mic-drop at the Not Geneva Motor Show with their 1,700bhp four-seat family-wagon – the Gemera – but they threw their metaphorical microphone right in the direction of Bugatti with this – the Jesko Absolut, a top speed oriented version of the Jesko capable, apparently, of 310mph…. okay Kristen you remember this time last year just before the Geneva Motor Show I came to see you in angle home of course you were putting the finishing touches to the YESCO but that was the high downforce track version and corralled me who said yeah we’re gonna do something a bit more slippery a bit higher top speed I didn’t think it’s going to be as extreme a transformation as this so this is the YESCO absolute and let’s just cut straight to the chase yes so if you pull on the numbers together it will go faster than we ever want to drive so we’re thinking the performance of the car will not stop us reaching our hoped-for records it will be the driver or the road conditions of something else not the car but we’re talking way way over 500 kilometers per hour 500 is 310 miles an hour Wow so simulation it’s more than fast enough we actually don’t even want to build anything faster ever yeah this is the absolute last and top standpoint you’re limited by the tires you’re limited by location by bravery and by sanity so what are your friends for verifying or getting near that yeah so it’s all that process again reaching out to authorities and police forces trying to shut down the good road so it might take a year or two or something like that that the aim is of course to prove what the car is capable of and you’re saying this is the fastest car the Koenigsegg is ever going to at 300 mile an hour top speed how much do you want to beat them so you care about being first you know it’s always I mean these magical flat numbers it’s always cool to be first I think you know I think the tuatara looks extremely slippery I think of this extreme asleep I think it has similar drag numbers that we have but it’s all about point is 0.278 something like that which is amazing for cars like this then then this of course is a matter from my point of view are we all pull a homologue eight is it the customer car spec what about high speed stability and drivability and these things I really don’t know but but good for them and let’s see what happens you know right the absolute just take us through the differences in the body compared to the the track orientation yes the most obvious one is that the rear of the car is a little bit longer there is no huge active rear wing we have these high-speed strikes that we put started designing to increase high speed stability even further but surprisingly the more we played around with them they started creating vortexes behind the car to reduce the wake so without those we’re almost 0.29 in drag but with them were under 0.28 I’ve never seen anything that it’s inspired by a fighter jet exactly I mean thing yes I mean they’re very high speed and they need to be controllable advise it’s a similar need then we have this Li bit longer more flat section in a very straight cut off very straight cut off a dish 300 degree where the dish on that looks good from where they clip in exactly that is the same rear wheel as on the track focus yes cause with clipped in dishes so you can actually undo them if you want and it’s only if you want to go even faster but you can probably break a record without it either and then this is smooth it out it relieves pressure from the wheel but it doesn’t give a lot of extra downforce so the s guy is more aggressive exactly that’s and then then there is this scoop in the bonnet that’s taken out from the radiator which gives a lot of downforce but also some drag without the scoop in the bonnet you can now put the roof back in there like on traditional turn xx this is actually an clickable option in the configuration in the ESCO so it’s not it’s it’s not like it’s two different cars it’s it’s a lot of bodywork changes and suspension changes they’re soft softer Springs because with less downforce you don’t want as hard Springs okay so becomes little bit more comfortable as well and so the engine just to recap is the five liter twin-turbo v8 1600 horsepower correct on e85 thanks so you could build 125 of these or 125 of the track versions it’s up to the guts we don’t know it could be 20 or 10 or 50 or 70 do predict really don’t know I don’t know because this looks great it is a sleek version of sometimes in this software aerodynamics exercises can end up looking a bit over the tall ride excite no styling goes out the window because it’s all about error but this looks amazing I’d have one of these good I like it be fun on track you know with the software Springs and the less downforce it’s easier on the edge of the grip you can really power fight it easily it loses grip sooner but still it’s an amazing track or it still has downforce it’s just not that super stiff suspension and tons of downforce that makes it super fast but edgier of course well you know
