It’s been a long time since Volkswagen unveiled the ID Buzz as a concept car at the 2017 North American International Auto Show, but the production version of the electric passenger van has yet to make its debut. But thanks to photo spies, we already know something about the new product.
If the exterior of the Volkswagen ID Buzz electric car was revealed by photo spies in earlier photographs, then nothing was known about the interior to this day. As in the most recent spy shots, here the test mule is disguised as a previous generation VW Transporter van. However, if you look inside the cockpit, you can see a different layout telling us that this is actually a prototype of the interior of the future ID Buzz.
In addition to the updated VW badge on the steering wheel, the test mule also received two screens and a gearshift lever next to the instrument cluster. The handle has a B mode, which is usually used on electric cars for more efficient regenerative braking.
However, it’s important to note that this may just be an impromptu interior for testing the instruments of the upcoming VW ID Buzz, which means it is not yet the final version of the interior.
The new Volkswagen ID Buzz will officially debut in 2022, with the model being sold first in Europe. The US version will be presented ?? in 2023 in a simplified model range: with a single wheelbase and in the back of a passenger van.
