In an interview with reporters, a KIA spokesman said the company is interested in building powerful electric crossovers like the recently revealed EV6 GT.
All details about the KIA EV6, the first dedicated electric vehicle from the Korean automaker, have just been revealed. While it’s important to note that the new electric car embodies KIA Opposites United’s revamped design philosophy, it also offers “thrilling pleasure for those looking to drive fast in silence.” With these words, the high-performance KIA EV6 GT is separately noted in the published press release.
But this is only the beginning of the production of fast electric vehicles of this brand.
According to a recent interview, KIA’s head of customer service, Artur Martins, hinted that the company’s lineup will have more fast and powerful GT-branded electric vehicles.
“It is important to us that the new products we are about to present on our new platform are brand-specific in terms of elements that together reflect Kia’s values. GT is an important element of this, “Martins said in an interview.
Mr Martins also pointed to the fact that the E-GMP platform on which the EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover is built provides a lot of flexibility in terms of creating completely different models. But GT-branded EVs will certainly differ in terms of performance to satisfy a more enthusiastic crowd of buyers, as do current GT-branded models on offer today, such as the Stinger GT.
“It is important that we have these products and their derivatives in our portfolio, which are slightly more pronounced and offer the consumer a truly immersive experience of interacting with electric vehicles, which in the past were considered boring types of vehicles. As you will see from the EV6 GT, they can be a lot of fun to drive, ”added Martins.
The KIA EV6 GT uses two electric motors that together create 577 hp. power and 740 Nm of instant torque transmitted to all four wheels, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds.
