Introducing the Ford Evos at the April Shanghai Motor Show, the developers relied on design and did not report any characteristics of the car. But now this model has appeared in the database of the Chinese certification body – and there are already some parameters there. Moreover, in the photos attached to the certificate, Evos has a more aggressive body kit on the body than that of the exhibition specimen.
So, the cross-liftback, which will formally replace the Ford Mondeo model, turned out to be larger than its predecessor. The length is 4920 mm instead of 4873 mm for the Chinese Mondeo sedan, the width is 1920 mm instead of 1852 mm, and the height is 1600 mm instead of 1470 mm. The wheelbase is also stretched – from 2850 to 2945 mm. And if the show Evos had 20-inch wheels, then the certificate indicates 19-inch.
It is already known that the Evos has a modified and stretched Focus chassis with independent rear suspension and front-wheel drive. And under the hood, judging by the certificate, a two-liter Ecoboost turbo engine with a capacity of 238 hp is installed. The maximum speed of such a cross-liftback is 193 km / h.
Serial Ford Evos will be out by the end of the year, cars for China will be produced by the joint venture Changan Ford, and they will accurately preserve the interior of the exhibition car with a 1.1 meter wide media screen. But there is still no information on the timing of the appearance of this model in other markets. In America, Ford has already announced that Evos is a purely Chinese model, but this may mean that the cross-liftback will come to other countries in a modified and adapted form.
