The automaker announced the popular model of the Ford Focus EcoBoost hybrid performance Hybrid. The novelty will receive the MHEV technology (mild hybrid), Digital Dash.
First announced in March last year, the Ford Focus version with a soft hybrid powertrain is now officially making its debut on the European market. It uses the latest transmission MHEV, which is also available for Puma crossover and subcompact Fiesta.
Under the hood of the new Ford Focus is MHEV 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine with turbocharging, which works with the integrated starter-generator with a belt drive (BISG), which helps the main motor to recover energy that is normally lost during braking and coasting.
There is also a 48-volt lithium-ion battery air cooled, located under the front passenger seat.
Overall, the new powerplant delivers a maximum output of 155 horsepower, more than double the specific power of 2.0-liter petrol engine capacity of 145 HP, which sold Focus 10 years ago. According to Ford, the new Focus in the performance of the MHEV will provide a combined fuel consumption of 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers with CO2 emissions of 115 grams per kilometer, as measured by the new European WLTP cycle. Will also be available Hybrid version of Focus EcoBoost 125 HP
Depending on the market, Focus electric will be offered in all available trim levels, including Titanium, Active, Focus ST Line, the Vignale. EcoBoost Hybrid will also be offered for truck / wagon, hatchback and sedan.
Another significant Focus for improvement is to add a fully digital instrument cluster. The display used has a width of 12.3 inches, providing “detailed, intuitive images, and icons high-definition full-color spectrum, making them brighter, less tiring to the eye and easier to read”. This system will include the Ford Hazard Warning technology that warns drivers about situations that are beyond their field of vision.
