Ford Mustang Mach 1 for Europe was weaker than the American version

As part of the “speed week”, which began on Friday, October 16, in Goodwood, the European office of Ford shared the characteristics of the Mustang in the Mach 1 variation, which was adapted for the local market for the first time.

The main difference was the reduction in performance of the 5.0-liter V8 sports car engine by 27 HP and 40 Nm of torque. A special modification of the Mustang received an engine with a capacity of 460 HP (529 Nm), while in the American market, the Mach 1 develops 487 HP (569 Nm). According to the assumptions of the Motor1 Agency, the unit was deforged due to strict environmental standards in Europe.

At the same time, the transmission of the European Mach 1 is the same as that of the American version – a 6-speed manual transmission and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Regardless of the transmission, the coupe has a mechanical differential lock on the rear axle.

Dynamic indicators of the European version of the model are not disclosed, but it is noted that at the race track, the Mustang Mach 1 will surpass any “Mustang” that has ever been officially sold on the European market.

It is worth saying that the Mach 1 in the Ford model line will be located between the base Mustang and Shelby GT500, that is, it will be a replacement for the Shelby GT350 variation, which will soon be discontinued from production. How much you will have to pay for a sports car in Europe is currently unknown.
