The American brand Ford has released the Equator crossover with a three-row cabin.
Ford has unveiled a new crossover with a three-row cabin. The novelty was named Equator. The car was created for the Chinese market. The new Ford Equator will be produced by the Jiangling-Ford joint venture.
The Equator crossover turned out to be slightly larger in size than the Everest model, but at the same time it was slightly inferior to the Explorer SUV in this respect. The new Ford Equator is 4905 mm long, 1930 mm wide and 1755 mm high. The wheelbase of the car reaches 2865 mm. The external feature of the crossover is a honeycomb grille, as well as a narrow LED head optics, which are visually united by a chrome element.
As for the interior, the front panel of the crossover is made in the style of the new models of Mercedes-Benz: a 12.3-inch virtual “tidy” is enclosed in one block with a touch screen of the media system of the same diagonal.
The large crossover Ford Equator is equipped with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost gasoline turbo four, which produces 224 hp. and 360 Nm of maximum torque. The power unit is paired with a robotic transmission with two clutches. The novelty will be available in the Chinese market with both front and all-wheel drive.
Sales of the new Ford Equator in China will begin on March 28 this year. Most likely, the large crossover will only be available in the Chinese market, where it will compete with the Jeep Grand Commander.
