The new 2022 Ford Ranger, spotted in spy photos during trials in the US and Southern Europe, is getting closer and closer. Ford Europe has unveiled the first preview of the next-generation pickup.
The test and development program for the new 2022 Ford Ranger is coming to an end, so the latest prototypes discovered are in the final stages of their own pre-production revisions.
At this stage, the commercial promotion of the new model begins. It will be on sale in Europe starting next year, although it will officially debut before the end of the year.
A first look at the new Ranger demonstrates its dynamic capabilities in the most challenging terrain: swampy, desert, rocky, snow and frozen lakes, on steep climbs and descents.
Ford notes that the new model, based on the T6 platform from the Broncos and Everest SUVs, is now more stable.
First-class off-road performance will be accompanied by a new and more modern design, accentuated by LED headlights positioned vertically at a very high level. A real revolution is expected inside the pickup. Highlighted by a large vertical touchscreen that occupies the space of the center console with 12 inches in the basic version and 15.5 inches in the most equipped. It will even have the SYNC 4 infotainment and multimedia platform with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Ford Ranger for the European market will be offered with two powerful diesel engines, a 2.0-liter twin-turbo 4-cylinder EcoBlue with a maximum output of 210 hp. and a 3.0-liter V6 mated to 10 automatic transmissions.
