Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton took a ride on the new Mercedes-AMG One hypercar, which will become the most powerful car of the German brand and one of the fastest production cars in the world. A video called “After Work” (“After work”) was published on YouTube.
The first prototype of the Mercedes-AMG One was shown in 2018, but serial Assembly of hypercars has not yet begun. The car is equipped with a hybrid powerplant based on a modified 1.6-liter V6 turbo engine, which is used on the cars of the factory team Mercedes-AMG in Formula 1.
The gasoline unit, capable of untwisting up to 11 thousand revolutions per minute, is paired with an electric motor on the rear axle. In the front wheels of the hypercar, another auxiliary electric motor is installed. The total power of the units exceeds 1000 horsepower.
According to preliminary data, the Mercedes-AMG One is able to accelerate from a place to the first “hundred” in about 2.5 seconds, and to accelerate to 200 km/h it will take no more than six seconds. The maximum speed of the hypercar exceeds 350 km/h. The video also shows active aerodynamic elements, including the anti-wing, which is automatically extended when the control electronics are switched to extreme racing mode ” R+”.
A total of 275 Mercedes-AMG One models will be produced, each of which will cost about 2.5 million euros. At the moment, all hypercars are already sold out.
