A completely new version of the iconic Hummer SUV is equipped with a fully electric motor and battery out. The official presentation of a novelty will take place in a few months. And now we have more information about the upcoming truck.
The electric Hummer will be a removable top – it is possible that this option will be available as extra option. In any case, the roof will consist of four panels: two in the front and two in back. Each of these panels, if removed, will have a special compartment for storage – it will be located under the hood of the car.
Hummer EV may be closer to the size of the current pick-up GMC Sierra, Ford F-150, Ram 1500, as well as its direct competitor Rivian R1T, which is also an electric pickup.
GMC Hummer EV will be built on a completely new platform, launched this week. While most cars on this platform will have a 400-volt battery with quick 200 kilowatt charging, EV Hummer (and other electric trucks from GM) will be able to boast a 800-volt batteries with a charging speed of up to 350 kilowatts. We already know that the new Hummer will have a capacity of 1000 horsepower (15 590 Newton meters) and speed 100 km/h it will reach only 3.0 seconds.
The American concern GM will establish serial production of the GMC Hummer EV at its Assembly plant in Detroit-Hamtramck (United States). Electric Hummer will debut may 20, 2020, before it begins production – the fall of 2021.
