The British company Prodrive has decided to develop a new version of its rally car called the Hunter, which was created to participate in the Dakar. According to Autocar, the new product will be intended for public roads. The premiere of the car should take place at the end of this year. However, initially the public will be shown a prototype of the future model. The commodity version will debut in 2022. The price of the car will be around 1 million pounds.

The novelty will be built on the basis of the racing Hunter and equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine from Ford. The car’s power will exceed 500 horsepower. The company itself calls the novelty “Ferrari for the Desert”.

“No one has ever made a car like this before. Imagine a road car capable of overcoming sand dunes at a speed of 160 km per hour, ”said CEO David Richards.

The design of the car will not differ much from the racing version. Former Jaguar chief stylist Ian Callum worked on the appearance of the Hunter for the Dakar.

Although it is definitely an unfinished replica, I would be interested in contact details, anyway. Maybe this could be an interesting project.
