The Guangzhou Auto Show (November 19-28) will premiere two GAC Group showcars: Zhixiang’s “flagship electric coupe” and a Trumpchi-branded hybrid crossover billed as an “energy pioneer.” The group promises that the presentation of a new design language aimed at technological breakthroughs will “boggle the public imagination.” Note that since 2011, the GAC Design studio has been headed by Vice President Fan Zhang, who has worked at Mercedes for more than eight years.

The prototype is considered a coupe, but it has at least four doors (without handles). Instead of side mirrors – cameras. The Chinese say the concept will one day turn into a flagship sedan. While it reminds GAC Eno.146 (2019) and Hyundai Prophecy (upcoming Ioniq 6), albeit more compact.

The group is creating an “intelligent ecosystem” ICV (Intelligent Connected Vehicle), so the concepts are presented as “ICV + EV” (sedan) and “ICV + HEV” (SUV). Recall, together with the Enpulse roadster (2020), a twin-engine module of the e-axle type was presented with an output of up to 340 kW (462 hp).

The theme of this year’s Auto Guangzhou exhibition is “New Technology, New Life.” The GAC Group, headquartered in Guangzhou, will once again occupy the entire booth # 2.2 to showcase new products from six major brands: GAC Trumpchi, GAC Aion, GAC Honda, GAC Toyota, GAC FCA, GAC Mitsubishi. There will be public premieres of the Aion LX Plus and Honda e: NP1 electric cars, and the “second” GAC GS8 will start collecting orders at “presale” prices.
