Online edition Autohome has published spy photos of the new Chinese electric car Geely, which will be sold under the newly established sub-brand Zeekr. Its distinctive feature will be doors of an unusual design, known as “scissor doors” or “Lambo doors”.
According to Autohome, the car, called Zeekr 001, is a test prototype of the model. Therefore, it is not yet known whether the machine will receive the guillotine-type doors, which will eventually be on the conveyor. At the same time, China already has production models with similar design solutions, including the XPeng P7 electric sedan, presented at the end of last year at the Guangzhou Motor Show.
Zeekr 001 will be a modified version of the Lynk & Co Zero Concept, which debuted in fall 2020. According to preliminary data, the crossover will be available with a single electric motor with a capacity of 272 hp, as well as in a modification with two units, producing a total of 544 horsepower. A set of 100 kWh batteries will allow you to travel up to 700 kilometers without recharging.
Chinese sales of an electric crossover that can compete with the Tesla Model X will start in October. It is assumed that the model will subsequently reach other markets.
The fact that the Geely concern is organizing a new premium Zeekr sub-brand for electric cars became known in March 2021. The vehicles will be based on the modular platform SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture), as well as in-house developed engines and batteries. The software of electric cars will be updated automatically from the cloud storage.
