Chinese giant Geely is adding a new premium Zeekr brand to its portfolio, although the brand’s first vehicle isn’t exactly its own model. Zeekr 001 is just Lynk & Co.
Geely is a Chinese car manufacturer that sells its products under various brands. Not only Volvo and Lotus are part of Geely’s huge portfolio, but also Lynk & Co, Polestar and Geometry. Geely is growing at the expense of Zeekr, a brand that, like Geometry, will only sell electric vehicles. Zeekr’s firstborn is Model 001 that has something special going on.
Zeekr 001 clearly presented the design we know from Lynk & Co. In fact, the Zeekr 001 is the production version of the Zero concept that Lynk & Co unveiled last September. Zeekr, like its concept forerunner, uses a new modular platform designed for electric vehicles, which includes SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture).
Outside, the 4.95-meter Zeekr 001 is virtually indistinguishable from the Lynk & Co Zero Concept, with the exception of the wheels. The sleek electric vehicle features a modern interior with a 9-inch digital instrument cluster screen and a huge 15-inch multimedia display.
The car will receive air suspension and a large head-up display. Specifications are not yet available, although Geely previously stated that the production version of the Lynk & Co Zero should provide a range of 700 kilometers (NEDC), and that it can reach a speed of 100 km / h in less than 4 seconds.
