The Geely Vision X3 subcompact hatchback, which has been selling well in China since 2017, has undergone a second restyling. The updated version will hit the market on April 15 under the name Geely Vision X3 Pro. The front-wheel drive five-door, as before, is equipped with a petrol aspirated 1.5 (109 hp, 142 Nm) with a five-speed “mechanics” and a variator, but the Eco mode has been added. In appearance, only the grille and bumpers have become new, but the interior has been thoroughly redesigned.
The “Grill” has changed its structure: instead of “circles on the water” now there are concave bars (hello to the flagship Xingyue L). The lights in the new bumpers are now vertical. All this did not affect the size of the hatch: 4005? 1760? 1575 mm, wheelbase – 2480, ground clearance – 185. Tires: 205/60 R16.
The eight-inch display is no longer integrated into the front panel. This made it possible to set the ventilation deflectors in one line and place a keyboard under it. The analog tidy has been “rendered” anew. The variator lever and door cards are new. The multi-wheel, seats, console have not changed. The parking “poker” is in place.
McPherson struts and semi-girder continue to operate in the chassis. Between the old lights, there is now the inscription “Geely”, and not the logo. The diffuser looked blackened. The exhaust was hidden before. Trunk volume – 400 liters. Curb weight – 1180-1215 kg.
Probably the main news for the youth audience, which the budget subcompact is aimed at, is the appearance of the G-Link media center, which performs voice commands and “mirrors” smartphones (wireless charging has been introduced for them). Note that the peak of popularity of “X-third” fell on 2018, when the Chinese bought 116,944 units. In 2019, demand dropped to 94,935 units, in 2020 – to 70,060. Now prices are in the range from 49,900 to 68,900 yuan ($ 76 00-10,500). A tangible rise in price is unlikely.
