Stefan Zilaff, formerly Chief Design Officer for British Bentley, has been named Vice President of Global Design for China’s Geely Auto Group. This was reported by the press service of a car manufacturer from China.
The 59-year-old German specialist will take the place of Peter Horbury (ex-Volvo designer), who, in turn, will now be responsible for the appearance of Lotus cars (part of Geely).
As for Zilaff, he will oversee the work of the Geely brands, the Lynk & Co hybrid developer, as well as the Geometry and Zeekr electric car brands. Zilaff’s headquarters will be located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The German designer has been working in the automotive industry for almost 40 years. He began his career at Audi, for which he developed, among others, the first generation A1 and A7 models. In addition, the specialist has held management positions with Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. In 2015, Zilaff moved to Bentley, where he took part in the creation of the first crossover in the history of the British brand – Bentayga.
