The flagship sedan of the South Korean brand Genesis, introduced five years ago under THE eq900 index, is preparing for the first generation change. On the YouTube channel dodo tube appeared a video with spy photos of the G90, dressed in thick camouflage.
Judging by the footage, in the new generation, the flagship will retain a large radiator grille in the form of a heraldic shield, which it received with an update in 2018. The optics with a horizontal stripe of daytime running lights in the middle will be replaced with a “two – story” one, and the lower part of the radiator grille will become a single one-as in the Junior G80. The grid pattern, which became part of the Genesis corporate identity, was left unchanged.
Probably, the flagship will also borrow the shape of the C-pillar and side rear Windows from the G80. The rear optics will remain two-tiered, but the lights may lose their connecting strip. The interior of the new sedan will also be decorated in the spirit of other models of the brand: the flagship will receive a new steering wheel and, possibly, a “floating” screen-tablet multimedia system.
Earlier, the first details about the equipment of the new G90 appeared: it was reported that it will become the first production car to acquire a third-level autopilot with two active laser rangefinders (lidar). The complex, which will allow the driver to take his hands off the steering wheel for some time, will also include a front camera and radar.
According to Motor1, the new Genesis G90 may be introduced in late 2021 or early 2022.
